About Anja

The Teeny Tiny Bio

The Slightly Longer Story :)

Hi! I’m Anja Lordanić, a podcasting mentor helping solopreneurs turn their ideas into audio podcasts that actually get off the ground and keep going for months and years to come.

My own podcasting journey wasn’t instant, as is the case with most podcasters. I spent about two years overthinking before finally launching my first show.

I had already been a long-time podcast listener, consuming hours of podcast episodes every day, but starting my own thing seemed insurmountable. Turns out, it’s very surmountable — if that’s even a word.

I was lucky enough to get invited to co-host another show in my native language, Croatian, and in person. I thought it was going to be a one-time thing. One episode only.

My colleague and I enjoyed it so much that I ended up staying for two years and recording 80+ episodes.

That experience gave me the boost I needed to launch my own podcast, and since then, I’ve recorded more than 100 additional solo and interview episodes and learned firsthand what makes an audio podcast sustainable AND fun.

Basically, podcasting is the only marketing channel I genuinely enjoy.

Whenever I share what I know — whether that’s on someone else’s podcast, through my newsletter, on social media, or on my own show — my focus is always on making podcasting feel approachable and aligned with how people actually run their businesses and their lives.

As a mother of two, sustainability and flexibility aren’t just nice ideas I talk about. They’re ingrained in how I run my business and create my own podcast.

5+ years podcasting • 200+ episodes • 1000s of editing hours • English & Croatian • Solo, interview & co-hosted formats

Topics I Love Talking About

I’m always happy to follow wherever a good conversation leads, but these are some of the topics I could talk about for hours:

Starting a podcast without overwhelm

How to go from “I’ve been thinking about starting a podcast…” to actually publishing it — even if you don’t have public-speaking experience, technical skills, or endless time to figure everything out.

Building a sustainable podcast

How to create a podcast that fits around your business and your life instead of becoming another content treadmill you eventually want to escape from.

Attracting clients through your podcast

How service-based solopreneurs can use their podcasts to demonstrate expertise, build trust, and attract high-quality leads and clients — without needing thousands of downloads.

Building a life-first podcast content ecosystem

How to use your podcast as the starting point for your marketing so you’re not constantly creating disconnected content for multiple platforms.

Podcast positioning & content strategy

How to choose your audience, concept, format, and episode topics so people immediately understand who your podcast is for and why they should listen.

Promoting a podcast beyond “New episode out now!”

Podcast SEO, podcast guesting, referrals, repurposing, and other ways to help the right people discover your show without spending your life promoting it.

Questions You Can Ask Me

Not sure where to start? Here are a few questions that tend to lead to great conversations. Feel free to use them — or take the conversation somewhere completely different.

  • What’s a limiting belief about podcasting that holds people back more than anything else?

  • How can someone know if their podcast idea is the right one to pursue?

  • What are the most common mistakes new podcasters make?

  • What does consistency actually look like when life and business get busy?

  • How do you approach content planning so podcast episodes feel intentional and aligned with your business?

  • How should busy solopreneurs prioritize podcasting activities to get the most impact?

  • How do you personally define a successful podcast beyond downloads and vanity metrics?

  • Can a small podcast actually generate clients?

  • How can a solopreneur make their podcast their main marketing channel rather than adding it on top of everything else?

  • If someone only has a few hours a week for their podcast, where should they spend that time?

Host of Say Yes to Podcasting

Say Yes to Podcasting: Helping Solopreneurs Launch Profitable Podcasts

Say Yes to Podcasting is a simple, straightforward, and friendly guide for solopreneurs with service-based businesses who want to start podcasts that actually support their businesses.

I talk about everything podcasting — from positioning, format types, episode ideas, and podcasting mindset to promotion, guesting, monetization, and using your podcast to attract high-quality leads and clients.

And because I’m interested in what podcasting looks like in real life — not in an imaginary world where we all have unlimited time — sustainability is a recurring theme throughout the show.

INTERVIEWS & SPEAKING

INTERVIEWS & SPEAKING ☻

I love talking about podcasting just as much as I love actually doing it. :)

I’ve joined podcast hosts and creators for conversations about building sustainable podcasts, using podcasting as a business and marketing tool, getting past the fears that stop people from starting, and what I’ve learned from 200+ episodes behind the mic.
